Four years ago, I started reading personal development books. From then till now, I’ve read over 1000 books. Here are five lessons i’ve taken away from reading consistently for the past five years; 1. READ ONLY THE BEST BOOKS. Sad to admit, but 2/3 of the books I’ve read were average or bad books. There are millions of good books out there, but look for only the ‘best books’ on the topics you want to read about. It will save you the stress and time of reading subpar or uninteresting books. How do you get the best books? This can be achieved by seeking out reliable recommendations, looking up reviews and ratings, and skimming and scanning the book briefly before reading it thoroughly. 2. MANY GOOD BOOKS ARE NOT “BEST SELLERS” After reading over a thousand books, I discovered that many fantastic books are neither top sellers nor even widely read. Don’t limit yourself to reading only the best-selling books. Read unpopular books as well. Sometimes you come across them by accident, other times you see them and ignore them.
